Alpro scores with Manchester United FC

When Manchester United needed to solve a safety problem, Alpro Hardware specialists in the supply of access solutions and access control, stepped in to supply the solution.

The electronic advertising hoardings around the ground needed to be raised and operable during match days, but needed to be easily removed in the event of an emergency to allow the crowd to escape onto the football pitch itself.

Conventional methods had been tried and had failed. Alpro specified the use of the ES7000 hook locks, which were wired into the safety protocols, so that in the event of an emergency, a signal would be received by the hook locks which would subsequently release the advertising hoardings, allowing them to drop into specially prepared spaces leaving spectators unimpeded access to the playing surface.
