Why am I asked to take pack quantities
Helps for a quicker despatch time & also because we are not spending time re-packaging it keeps the cost down.^Top
Is there a charge for delivery?
Carriage and packing are included in orders over £250.00. A charge of £10.00 is made on lower value orders to cover carriage, packing and insurance.
For deliveries to Ireland please speak to the office for pricing.

Can you deliver direct to site, if so is there any additional cost to us?
Yes, just notify us by fax of new address and we will re-direct your order, provided it is a normal next day delivery there will be no additional cost.^Top
How do I work out the handing of my door?
With the door opening towards you, look at which side it is hung / where the hinge is and that denotes whether the door is left or right handed.^Top
What guarantees does Alpro give?
6 years for AL110/AL150/AL2000 series electric strikes
5 years for EMS1200 shearlocks/EB250 solenoid bolts/DB25 deadlocking bolts
3 years for EB1001 &EB501 electric bolts/door hardware

Do you glue the tube on your 97 series handle?
If we assemble 97 series handles we always glue the tube and recommend our Customers to do the same.^Top
Can you fit additional centre supports to longer length handles?
Yes, we recommend centre supports on longer length handles to give better stability.^Top
What is the size of the hole to drill for glass fixings?
M12 fixing - 18mm diameter, M8 fixing - 12mm diameter.^Top
Are the fixings included in the price?
Yes, but we need to know what type of door the handles are to be fitted on i.e. Glass, Timber or Aluminium. We only include standard fixings i.e. F19, F17. All other fixings are at additional cost.^Top
Do stainless steel and aluminium handles need any maintenance?
Yes. In certain environments, such as a particularly salty atmosphere, cleaning will be required at regular intervals of between three and six months.^Top
How do I clean steel and aluminium handles?
In a normal environment e.g. where oil or grease marks need to be removed, use a proprietary stainless steel cleaning agent. Vitopan or a 3M cleaner is suggested.^Top
What about salty environments?
For the onset of corrosion or rust (due to exposure to salt air) an oxalic acid should be used. But this should be applied and allowed to stand for 25 minutes. Please ensure all manufacturers safety directions are followed and carried out at all times, when using these types of products.^Top
Do coated handles need maintenance?
Yes. A mild solution of warm water with the appropriate detergent is suggested. All surfaces of the handle should be cleaned, using a soft cloth or brush and then dried thoroughly.^Top
Do aluminium and anodised handles need cleaning?
Yes. Wipe over with a damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Then wipe the handle with a wax polish to ensure ongoing aesthetics. Never use metal cleaning agents on aluminium anodised furniture.^Top
Can I just use water to clean handles?
No, do not use water on is own, follow the instructions in Q9 above for lasting trouble free handle life.^Top
Why is Nylon coating more expensive than powder coating?
You get better a quality handle which is more durable because of the process it goes through and that base nylon material is more expensive.^Top
What fixings do I need to use on various handles?
Impressionist/Functional Series handles back to back fixings as follows:
Standard door thickness (39-54mm) - F19 fixings
Extra thick doors (55-85mm) - F20 fixings
Glass doors (M12-55mm) - F21 fixings
Bolt through fixing arrangement as follows:
Standard thickness (39-54) - F17 (F26 with cap) fixings
Extra thick doors (55-89mm) - F18 fixings
Functional 99 Series handles both back to back and bolt through as follows:
Standard door thickness (39-54) - F27 fixings
Extra thick doors (55-89mm) - F28 fixings
Glass doors - F29 fixings

On 98 Series handles how far are the pillars in?
50mm from each end, but can vary at customer request.

On 97 series handles how do you work out the fixings centres?
Example: o/a handle length 2134m (inc brackets) = 2096 centre to centre a difference of 38mm

What warranty is there on electric strikes?
6 years on the AL110, AL150 & AL2000 series electric strikes. 3 years on the EL900 series electric strikes.^Top
How do I change AL110 from PTL to PTO?
Locate the screw on the back section of the strike. Remove this screw and in doing so, take care to keep the strike upright. Remove the barbell and relocate it the other way around. Secure this in place with the retaining screw.

Do you provide any weather rated access control products?
Yes, our AL110 and AL150 electric strikes are weather rated to IP56 as standard. We also offer IP65 rated keypads and exit switches.

Are the strikes AC compatible?
Yes, with the use of a rectifier, all strikes are manufactured DC compatible.

Are electric strikes available in 12v and 24v?
Yes, all our electric strikes are 12/24v selectable.

Has the holding force of the electric strikes been tested?
Yes, independent test information is available on request.

Do the hookbolts, barbolts etc come complete with faceplates?
No you have to order them separately.^Top
Do Alpro sell spares kits for paddle handles?
No you have to buy a new handle.^Top
If side loading of the lock is an issue what can I do?
Usually if the lock is under side load there could be a problem with the overall door set up. Advice should be sought from the manufacturer/installer.

How many spare keys are with the round mortise cylinders?

How many spare keys are with the europrofile cylinders?

How do you work out the backset of hook bolts?
It is from the centre line of the cylinder apature to edge of the faceplate.^Top
Do the bolt guides come complete with flushbolts?
Yes.

What do the transom closers come complete with?
Complete fixing kit, bottom pivot assembly and top arm and channel.^Top
Do Alpro sell spare parts for the paddle handles?
Yes, but only the standard and extended cam plugs.

How do I work out the handing on my door?
With the door opening towards you, look at which side it is hung/where the hinge is and that denotes whether the door is left or right handed. Therefore LH hung door requires a RH latch and a RH hung door requires a LH latch.

What is the maximum weight the 51A10 heavy duty pivot assembly will take?
Up to a maximum weight of 120kg
