The Alpro AL110 series is an ANSI style security strike complete with stainless steel short or long faceplate for use in metal, timber and some composite door applications.

Can this strike be used on wooden as well as aluminium doors?

Yes, these can be used for wooden doors as well as aluminium. For wooden doors you would need for the ‘B’ version with the long face plate.

Can I change the functionality of the AL110 strikes?

Yes, these strikes can easily be changed from PTL to PTO and are also 12/24 volt interchangeable! To change from PTL (fail safe) to PTO (fail secure) whilst holding the strike over a clear surface, remove the screw cap positioned on the bottom. Inside you will find a barbell, take this out and put it back in the opposite way.

What power supply do I need?

Each AL110 will require a dedicated 2 amp.

I have a AC power supply – is this strike suitable?

Yes, paired with our RM1
you can use this strike on AC power supply.

Have these been fire tested?

No.

Can this electric strike be fitted with a dead bolt?

Yes, using either the AL110SLEU or AL110SLUK you can fit these together to enable the strike to be locked off at night. Day operation would be with the lock bolt retracted.

Can I change the handing?

Yes, there is no handed option for the strikes – you just need to turn the strike upside down.

Is this strike rated to IP56?

Yes it is.

Can these be fitted on gates?

The ALL10 is not waterproof. Whilst it can be used on gates you may find you have issues due to water egress, applying silicone around the strike can help to prevent water egress however we could not guarntee this.

What core cable is required for the strikes?

If you are using a non-monitored strike any cat 4 would be fine. If you are using monitored, you would need a cat 5 or cat 6.

What does PTL stand for?

PTL stands for Power To Lock, otherwise known as fail safe. When the power is cut/fails this strike will disengage as the power is needed to lock it.

What does PTO stand for?

PTO stands for Power to Open, otherwise known as fail secure. When the power is cut/fails this strike will stay engaged as the power is needed to open it. Please note we do not advise a PTO lock to be fitted on an exit route door in case the power fails in an emergency situation. This should always be used with a battery back up.

Why does my strike only work when held upside down?

Gravity is assisting with the strike operation, meaning not enough power is reaching the strike. It is likely this has been wired to 24v rather than the 12v. Please check your wiring against the diagram in our installation instructions. If this is wired correctly please check the power supply unit. Each strike will require a minimum of 2amp.
