Alpro Architectural Hardware once again showcased its impressive range of architectural hardware and access control products at the NEC recently by attending the Built Environment and Solutions Technology (BEST) show. The exhibition was previously known as Interbuild and the organisers felt that it was time to give the image a complete makeover hence the change of name.
 
Alpro had on show an impressive range of existing and new products, specifically for the access control and commercial aluminium OEM marketplace. The new magnetic electric solenoid bolt was launched, which solves the problem of door misalignment, thanks to a cleverly positioned set of magnets, which ensure the bolt and aperture line up correctly prior to the locking bolt being thrown.
 
The new range of Vortex magnets were on show, which again incorporate an ingenious design, such that when a force is applied to try and open the door, the armature plate actually holds the door in position with a stronger force. Independently tested to 15,000N (3,000Kgs) holding force the range looks set to take the market for face to face magnets by storm.
 
With the ever increasing environmental and security concerns and legislation now coming to the fore and being mindful of the needs of the Alpro customer base, BEST saw Alpro announce the impending introduction of its new deadlock, tested and compliant with BS.EN.12209 Grade 6. The lock is completely retro-fittable and comes in a range of backsets and has a revolutionary over centre principle operating mechanism, which has been patented to protect its unique and original design features.
